" Ok tour, but could be better "

Our Vienna guide on the way down was pretty good and knowledgeable about the main sites on the way down. We enjoyed the music too! However when we got to Budapest, we had to pick up three guides--Japanese, Spanish and an English speaking guide. The first part of the tour you were told to go on your own for a bit. Then meet back with the group for an optional lunch. During this time, I'm glad we ventured on our own to Heroes square and a nearby castle as the guide did not take us there. We met back for lunch and then headed back to the bus for a driving tour of some main sites. All three guides were on the bus at the same time. While the Spanish and English guides alternated with the mic on the bus, the Japanese guide was speaking at the back of the bus at the same time as the other guides. This made it very difficult to hear what the English guide was saying as it was loud and confusing mostly for us as we sat at the back of the bus. We were then taken for a walking tour on the pesh side of the river. During that time, the English guide let us go on our own two times before finishing the tour and allowing us to see a few things on our own. While she was informative, she only really told us about the Fisherman's Bastion and the church. The tour package advertises that you will get to see the Buda castle, heroes square and parliament as well. But it did not say that these sights were "drive by" and optional in your free time. I was disappointed that we were on our own for more of this tour. I felt like the guide could have offered more or outline what she was going to cover at the start of the tour so that people can go do their own sight seeing as an option. While I understand it is a short time to see everything listed on the website, it would help if there were more details about the tour itself. That is, how long the walking tour is, how long the bus tour is and what it covers exactly. That way, people can plan accordingly. Also, we were not shown much on the buda side, we were let go to do our own thing again and told to meet back at the hotel. More details please next time.
